About Us

The Spine Council, Inc. (TSC) is a non-profit organization, made up of spine surgeons and spine industry leaders. The primary focus is to provide the fair and equitable application of the spinal coding guidelines and reimbursement application and continuing education to the spine community.

Our Mission

The Spine Council Inc. seeks to provide the spinal community, physicians and payers alike, with expert, fair and unbiased analysis and education in all aspects of spinal procedural coding and reimbursement.

Our Purpose

Reimbursement denials have become an increasingly significant reason for physician revenue declines. Currently, insurance companies have internal claims reviews in the event of a dispute, and from a surgeon’s perspective, an impartial review is not usually possible. For these reasons we have founded The Spine Council.

The council will review a case to ensure that the submission process and appeals process was followed correctly, with complete and accurate information. Spine coding and reimbursement is a very detailed and complex process that is constantly evolving and The Spine Council has dedicated itself to providing its expertise for correct and compliant interpretation of the spinal codes, guidelines and other information pertinent to coding and reimbursement.
